AI Overview checker

The short answer

An AI Overview checker shows the AI Overview Google displays for a search expression, and the pages it cites as sources. Type an expression, pick a country and add your website. You get the text of the AI Overview, the list of the pages it cites, and whether one of them is yours. When Google shows no AI Overview for that expression, the tool says so.

Questions about AI Overviews

Why does Google show no AI Overview for my expression?

Google decides expression by expression, country by country, and it can change from one day to the next. When it shows none, the results page for that expression is still the usual list of links.

How do I get my page cited in an AI Overview?

No setting does it: Google picks the pages, and fewer and fewer of them are among its first results. Ahrefs took 863,000 Google searches and checked the 4 million pages that AI Overviews cited for them (study of March 2026). In July 2025, about 76% of these pages were among the top 10 pages of Google’s results for the same search. By March 2026, only 37.9% were. Start by reading the pages Google cites for your expression.

Is an AI Overview the same thing as Gemini?

No. The AI Overview is the block Google writes at the top of a results page. Gemini is Google’s assistant, a separate product you open and talk to. The same question can get 2 different answers, which is why our AI Visibility Audit measures them separately.

Which countries can I check?

12 countries: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Singapore, Philippines, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands. Google’s results change with the country, so pick the one where your buyers search.

How fresh is the result?

The result is read from a desktop Google search in that country, in its main language, when you press the button. The same expression in the same country then shows the same result for 6 hours.
